How I make a flower essence mixture

There are a couple of ways that I make essence mixtures. I listen to what people tell me in casual conversation and when I am providing a service for them, whether it be a haircut, reiki, reflexology, acupressure or EFT.
I listen for what is causing unhappiness and imbalance and I go from there. Normally the essences that are needed will quickly come to mind.
In the occasions when I don't know which essence(s) would be of most benefit I dowse.

I connect to the person's higher self, healing guides and angels and to the devas of flower essences to help me find the best, most effective and beneficial essence combination.
I use my pendulum to then find which essence would be of good use. I go through my essences and pick out which essences get a big yes from my pendulum.

After a series of more questions I then make my mixture. I then attune the essence mixture to reiki energies and I make a simple prayer of intention for a gentle and easy transformation to come with the use of the essences. Some times I tone and sing mantras and other times I simply transfer healing intent into the mixture bottles.

All of my essences have an unicorn sticker on the bottle. Why? Its to remember the simple joy, play and purity. Its a gentle reminder that when things feel hard that there is still magic and gentleness around us to help us shift and change the situation so that joy may come back.

Right now the essences that I am working with are from Bach Flower Remedies, FES, Pacific Essences and Green Hope Farms.

I can make essences during a consultation and healing session or whenever they are requested.
Right now I am charging $8 for a 30ml bottle of a personalized essence mixture. If you would like for me to make a mixture for you then please send an email to magenta.rays@gmail.com

How I use flower essences in all parts of self care practice

We all have personal rituals for winding down and relaxing. For some its putting on lotion before they go to sleep. For others its taking a nice hot bath with salts and essential oils. For many its simply getting into bed and reading.

I began adding flower essences into my self care rituals and I've found great benefits.

When I find myself needing to change the energy in my space I will spray essences into the air. I spray essences through out my home whenever there has been any arguments, bad moods or pity parties. When I am irritated or frustrated or find myself stuck in negative thinking patterns I spray my room and myself down in a fine mist of water and flower essences.

When I take a bath I add flower essences for extra relaxation and stress relief.

My favourite way to take care of myself is doing a flower essence compress before I go to sleep.

I have a drawer full of essences and sometimes I know which one I want to use and when I don't I either muscle test or dowse (I'll be explaining these two easy techniques in another entry).
I love it when I am guided intuitively on how I should lay out my little cotton disks and which essences I should use because they tell me alot about what is causing me to not be in balance.

For example a week or so ago I was having some discomfort with one of my hips. The first essence that came to mind was Hibiscus since it is an essence that balances and gently heals any issues in the sacral chakra and hips. It is a hip opener and is associated with the sacrum, hips, sexuality, sensuality, passion and creativity.
I was also feeling pretty crabby, bitchy, critical and over sensitive so I added Beech to that mix. I was then guided to add Lotus; which is for a balanced and spiritual grounding and opening for not only the crown chakra (our spiritual center and connection to the divine) but for the whole body, and Crab Apple; which is a gentle cleanser of the body, mind, and spirit.
I put the cotton disks that had been soaking in water with these essences, on my hips, below my navel, on my diaphragm and on my thymus and forehead.
Within a moment of doing this I felt my jaw open up. I had been feeling tension in my jaw for a while but I had forgotten about it until I felt the tension release.
I had forgotten about the connection between the jaw and hips and the meridians that connect the two.
As I thought about it I could see how the jaw and hips would be connected in tension. Feeling critical had made my jaw clench and this tension was also living in my hips. Part of this critical energy was also related to my creative expression and how I was seeing myself.
The essence compress made me not only release some tension but it made me have an AHA! moment that helped me see how my thoughts where creating tension in my body.

The most simple self care ritual that I do with essences in applying a couple of my personal flower essence mixture to my inner wrists and hands. I rub them on like lotion. I chose these spots because not only are they easiest to access in almost any situation, but because there are many meridian openings and acupuncture sites found on these sites. And in reflexology, when whole body is mirrored in the hands.
I do this when I am stressed out. I do this when I am in crowded spaces and feel overwhelmed. I do this when I want to feel more comfortable. When I start getting judgemental and self blaming, when people are fighting around me, and whenever I feel the need to provide some self care for myself.

Its strengthened me and made my life easier. Its transforming old patterns and behaviours as well as fears and triggers so that I am able to be more present in the world.

Self care rituals are important and empowering and these are only some of the ways that I've been using essences in my daily life.

My flower essence story - the why, who and what

I was introduced to flower essences a decade ago by several women who were in my life at the time. The first women where housemates of mine that used flower essences. I remember seeing Bach Flower's Rescue Remedy just about every where that I went. I knew that it was a safe holistic way to ground and calm people during times of great distress but I never understood how or why they worked or how one would use them to get benefits.
One of those housemates gave me a couple of flower essence guides that didn't make much sense to me but I kept them knowing that one day I would understand. During that time I managed to inherit a few flower essences via a tenant of my parents.
I kept those essences in a box and kept them through out every move I've had in the last 10 years.
One year ago I finally had all questions about flower essences answered. I took a flower essence course and I asked so many questions that I am sure drove my classmates crazy but I had to make sure that I finally understood everything I could on flower essences. From there I went on to getting every book I could find on the topic and did much research online and on myself.

So this is what I can tell you about flower essences, 10 years after my first introduction, and after a year of education, exploration, experimentation and much healing.

Flower essences are gentle and powerful allies in healing. They are the vibrational imprints of flowers holding the spiritual information and healing of flowers and plants. They aid in personal healing of the mind, emotions and spirit. They help shift perspectives, release patterns and bring new understanding. They gently and lovingly assist those who wish to take their healing into their own hands. They are safe for everyone to use and are compatible with all forms of therapy and medication. To me they are the love and spirit of the earth. Mother Earth always provides in her abundance and nurturing giving medicines where there is need. Flower essences are one of the many ways she shows this great love.

Flower essences are made by collecting flowers on a clear sunny day and putting them in a glass bowl of spring water. This bowl of water and flowers is left outside in the sun for a few hours, normally at the site where they where harvested. In the time the water is energized by the sun and the imprint of the flower is transferred to the water.
The flowers are then removed and the water is then diluted and potenized and then traditionally preserved in brandy.
Flower essences are vibrational and are stored in glass dropper bottles because a couple of drops is all that is needed as a dosage.
Flower essences work through our various energy fields and the information they provide our electrical systems helps bring transformation to our bodies, minds, emotions and spirits.

The first day of flower essence training I was given a small bottle of rescue remedy. My teacher told me that since flower essences are vibrational in nature, that they affect all that is around you. I put this theory to test on my way home from that class. I was waiting at a bus stop and a man came a long with his pre-teen daughter and her friends. The daughter was having a fit and was quite upset and angry over a power struggle they where having about dinner. The energy of the argument was upsetting me so I put a couple of drops of Rescue Remedy on my wrist. As I was doing this the girl came to sit beside me and instantly calmed down, changed the subject and began to play and laugh with her friends.
Lucky timing? Maybe. The quick shift in energy that I witnessed and experienced was all the proof I needed that flower essences are indeed powerful presences.
I have witnessed this shift in all parts of my life since my journey with flowers began.
Flower essences are now a part of all treatments and services that I provide. From haircuts, to reiki, to bodywork they are there as part of the session, giving their gentle and loving support and guidance.

How to Use Flower Essences- a reference for clients

Here are some ways you can use essences in your daily routines.

In beverages:

The most common way to take flower essences is by putting 2-4 drops from your stock or mixture bottle into any liquid you are drinking.

In a spray:

You can also add 4-6 drops of your mixture bottle into a small mister bottle. You can find these spray bottles at the dollar store. I prefer to use darker bottles for my essence sprays.
Add water (preferably purified or spring), 4-6 drops of your mixture bottle and a few drops of your favourite aromatherapy essential oils. I personally like to add eucalyptus, lemon and lavender oils into my essence sprays.
You can spray your self with this spray to get your regular dosage. Taking your flower essences this way has an aura cleansing effect. You can also mist this spray around your home to feel the energetic healing effects in your home sanctuary. The information from the flower essences will then be available to all in your home. Mist your home once a day as part of your winding down ritual or whenever you want to shift the energies in your home.

Topically:

There are several ways you can do this.

  1. Adding 20-40 drops from your mixture bottle into your bath. Add some Epsom or sea salts and your favourite essential oils and you've got yourself a deeply relaxing and healing bath.
  2. Making a compress. You'll need one small glass bowl or drinking glass, half a cup of water (or less), cotton ball or pad, or a small cloth or face towel. Add 2 drops from your flower essence mixture into the water and let your cotton ball or cloth soak in that water for a few moments. Then apply this compress any where on your body that feels right. I personally have found great benefits from putting a flower essence compress over my eyes, on my forehead, throat, on my chest, belly, and anywhere that has aches and pains. Leave the compress on for 20 minutes while you meditate, relax or nap.
  3. Direct application. You can also directly put a couple of drops from your flower essence mixture on to your skin. Spots I find effective are on pulse points, inner wrists, behind the ears, temples and throat. You can also use the water from the compress to apply to anywhere on your body that hold tension and pain.
  4. You can also add 2-4 drops of your flower essence mixture to your favourite moisturizer, lotion, cream or water you put on your skin on a regular basis.
Your plants:

Add 4-6 drops from your mixture bottle to the water that you give your plants. My home feels divine when I do this and the plants love it!
